The 5th China Student Service Outsourcing Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition got off to a rousing start, in the city of Wuxi, Jiangsu province, on Sept 11, with student teams from 132 universities across the country taking part in the final round, and Wang Xing, the deputy director at the Wuxi Commerce, on hand to address the gathering on Sept 12.
Wang told the crowd that Wuxi has put a lot of effort into this competition to encourage and assist students in their entrepreneurial attempts. He explained that this year’s competition has developed immensely and has attracted leading enterprises, including IBM and Haier, to help with designing the contest and judging. And it raised five million yuan ($0.81 million) to be used as venture funds for the winners.
The competition also brought new talents from Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan to compete and communicate with mainland university students and Wang said he hopes it can cultivate talented young people for the service outsourcing industry and make Wuxi a more attractive place for university students, while improving their ability and career development.
