A city-wide walking event was held in Zhangjiagang on Dec 31, as one of the celebrations for welcoming the new year.
The large group of pedestrians set off in an orderly fashion from the main square of Shazhou Lake at 9 am. Participants, dressed in various team uniforms, waved colorful flags and shouted slogans as they embarked on their journey.
The route circled Shazhou Lake, covering a total distance of 4.8 kilometers. Along the way, participants immersed themselves in the shimmering views and fresh scenery of the lake while enjoying the healthy outdoors exercise.
The annual New Year's walking event is a signature fitness activity in Zhangjiagang, demonstrating the city's vitality through a healthy and uplifting approach to organizing social events.
