At the recent Zhangjiagang Scientific and Technological Innovation Conference, Zhangjiagang unveiled its list of the Top 10 Industrial Sci-Tech Achievements for the first time, demonstrating the city's innovative strength.
These achievements span key sectors such as metallurgical new materials, semiconductors, new energy, aerospace, and biomedicine, with multiple breakthroughs achieving global firsts and international leadership.
As a major manufacturing city, Zhangjiagang is reshaping its industrial landscape through innovation.
In the field of traditional industries, Shagang Steel has achieved stable and efficient production in its thin-strip casting and rolling project, resulting in an annual increase in output value of over 2 billion yuan ($285.35 million). The project has also made significant progress in energy saving, consumption reduction, and emission reduction.
In emerging and future industries, Space Pioneer's Tianlong-3 carrier rocket has set a domestic record for the biggest engine thrust by any Chinese privately developed rocket.

A high-quality innovation ecosystem is key to these achievements. Zhangjiagang pioneered China's first "Corporate Innovation Credit System", upgraded its "Rongchuang X" platform for more precise resource allocation, and built over 4 million square meters of sci-tech innovation spaces.
With government-provided financing and test flight base support, Zhuoshi Aviation, established in Zhangjiagang for less than a year, quickly achieved full-scale production of industrial drones, emerging as a dark horse on the list. Currently, the company holds over 40 million yuan in orders, and the second phase of the project is about to commence.

Looking ahead, Zhangjiagang plans to offer up to 2 million yuan in funding for major sci-tech achievement transformation projects. By 2028, strategic emerging industry projects are projected to exceed 80 percent of total tech investment, with a cluster of over 10,000 tech enterprises.
