The list of 2025 Jiangsu Provincial Green Factory was announced recently, with 10 companies from Zhangjiagang making the list. These companies span various fields, including high-end equipment manufacturing, textiles, and new energy.
In recent years, Zhangjiagang has been dedicated to pursuing a green, low-carbon development path. To date, it has established one national-level green industrial park, six national-level green factories, 23 provincial-level green factories, and 31 Suzhou city-level green factories.
Junma Steel Cord is a model enterprise in practicing green transformation. The company uses an "ultrafiltration + reverse osmosis" process to achieve water reuse, saving 5.5 million cubic meters of water annually.

Yihua Runtong New Material stands out as another example. The company has invested 30 million yuan ($4.24 million) in a 6.7-megawatt photovoltaic project, which produces 8 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually and helps reduce carbon emissions by about 4,142 metric tons each year.

To promote green transformation in enterprises, Zhangjiagang has created a comprehensive cultivation mechanism by building a three-tier system. It also offers free green diagnostics and solutions, along with subsidies to companies recognized as green factories, stimulating motivation for transformation and supporting high-quality development in the manufacturing sector.
