The new elevated ramp on the Suyuzhang corridor leading out of Zhangjiagang allows drivers to move seamlessly between the city's East and South Ring elevated roads and the Suzhou urban area. The ramp completes the interchange between the East Second Ring and the Suyuzhang route for outbound traffic.
The South Expressway consists of three segments — Xinjing East Road, the Suyuzhang link, and the South Second Ring. The project is designed to strengthen Zhangjiagang's backbone road network and improve overall transport efficiency. Construction of the southern section is now more than 85 percent complete, with crews pushing ahead on the final phase. The elevated portion of the entire south line is expected to be fully operational by the end of the year.
The new ramp will help ease congestion in the city's eastern and southern districts by providing an additional high-capacity route for outbound traffic. It also lays the groundwork for the full opening of the southern expressway corridor in the coming months.
