This year, Shuangshan Island has been focusing on upgrading offerings and creating innovative experiences, rolling out high-quality tourism projects and emerging business models to strengthen its development model of blending "slow living" with "premium leisure".

The Xinbowan Hot Spring Resort Hotel, which opened in July, covers 10.32 mu (0.69 hactares) and features a design that incorporates river views and reeds.

"Shuangshan Island not only offers a slow-paced lifestyle but also delivers a high-end vacation experience," said Shen Yunxiang, a tourist from Shanghai who booked a three-day, two-night stay, adding that the hotel's comprehensive facilities and golf experience left a lasting impression.

Just across the street, the Shuangshan Blue Bay Cultural and Tourism Block is under construction. The former Shuangshan Middle School is being transformed into a cultural tourism district while preserving its original structure and greenery. Future plans include island-themed cafes, light dining, entertainment, and integrated cultural-sports-tourism projects.

In June, the agreement for the Shuangshan Island Low-Altitude Comprehensive Application Pilot Zone was officially signed, marking a key step forward in the development of the low-altitude economy. Taking advantage of the island's clear airspace, vast waters, and rich ecology, the project focuses on four core areas: low-altitude tourism, sports, logistics, and inspections.

"Low-altitude tourism" project has already begun. Covering 15,000 square meters, it will feature helicopter takeoff and landing facilities, a command center, and commercial amenities, positioning itself as a new landmark for low-altitude tourism along the Yangtze River.

The "low-altitude sports" sector is also taking off. In early August, the Xiangshan Paragliding Project officially launched and has since attracted over 200 participants. "The unique landscape and cultural setting make Xiangshan perfect for paragliding," said Project Director Xie Guofeng. Work is also underway to relaunch a skydiving project at the island's flight camp, further enriching aerial sports offerings.
