Five colossal stainless steel tower vessels manufactured by Zhangjiagang Furui Heavy Equipment Co were recently shipped to Saudi Arabia, marking another milestone for the company in the global petrochemical equipment market.
Specializing in the design and production of pressure vessels, Furui Heavy Equipment has earned national recognition as a "little giant" enterprise for its innovation and technical expertise. It also serves as a sample enterprise in China's Customs Trade Index for export-related statistics.
"This batch of equipment consists of oversized stainless-steel towers destined for a refinery expansion project in Saudi Arabia," said Zhao Shoukui, project manager at Furui. The largest unit — a 100-meter-long, 7-meter-wide ethylene distillation column — weighs in at a staggering 1,200 metric tons.

Transporting such massive and irregularly shaped structures is no small feat. To ensure a smooth and timely loading process, Zhangjiagang Customs implemented a suite of tailored services, including 24/7 on-site supervision, pre-scheduled inspections, and fast-track clearance through dedicated green channels. These measures are part of a broader effort to streamline logistics for large-scale industrial exports.
The shipment also reflects Zhangjiagang's expanding role in the Belt and Road Initiative. In the first half of this year, the city's total trade with Belt and Road partner countries reached 72.65 billion yuan ($10.11 billion), a year-on-year increase of 5.9 percent. Exports rose by 16.6 percent, underscoring the city's growing export strength.
