Jiangsu Railteco Equipment Co is making its mark internationally with its full industrial chain and lifecycle service capabilities. Leveraging its R&D and manufacturing strengths, the company is expanding its reach into Belt and Road markets.

Over the past decade, Railteco's products have been exported to more than 20 countries, covering a diverse range of railcars—from air-conditioned passenger coaches to tank wagons and container flatcars.

"Our willingness to offer small-batch customized products is the key to unlocking opportunities along the Belt and Road," said Sun Wei, marketing director of Jiangsu Railteco.

Tailor-made solutions address the specific needs of many developing countries, where demand tends to be small-scale and budgets are limited. This fit-for-purpose approach allows Railteco to offer competitive flexibility in emerging markets.

At the beginning of the second decade of the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI), Railteco launched construction of its new Intelligent Manufacturing Base for Rail Transit Core Components—a 2024 key private investment project in Jiangsu province. The base will focus on core technologies such as high-speed rail wheelsets and lightweight car bodies, while also exploring integrated "rail + new energy" solutions.

Once completed, the facility will have an annual capacity of 200,000 wheelsets, featuring a green, low-carbon intelligent assembly line. Taking advantage of Zhangjiagang's strong transportation network and talent resources, the base will serve as a fully integrated hub for R&D, production, and export.
