Eighteen international crew members from vessels docked at Zhangjiagang Port recently embarked on a cultural excursion to the Jincun Village Temple Fair in Tangqiao town, Zhangjiagang.
The group enjoyed a deep dive into the local customs, traditional intangible cultural heritage (ICH), and authentic local cuisine at the vibrant event. They engaged with various aspects of the fair, highlighting the enduring appeal of traditional Chinese culture to an international audience.
The Jincun Village Temple Fair, with roots tracing back to the Song Dynasty (960-1279), boasts a rich history spanning over 800 years. Recognized as a national-level ICH, the fair stands as a shining cultural landmark for Zhangjiagang, drawing both locals and visitors alike to experience its unique charm.
