Focusing primarily on showcasing works by 20 emerging and mid-career printmakers from Suzhou, the exhibition also features 7 specially invited artists. A total of 28 diverse printmaking works are on display, fostering a cross-regional dialogue between the forefront of contemporary printmaking and the core of Suzhou's local practice.
Visitors can experience the innovative visual expressions of Suzhou printmakers and appreciate the unique charm that emerges from integrating traditional culture and contemporary art. The exhibition pays tribute to Suzhou's thousand-year-old printmaking heritage while exploring new possibilities for the development of the art form today.
Notably, to help more people engage with printmaking, the museum organized an educational activity on the day of the opening. Participants not only created their water-based woodblock prints but also attended the opening ceremony, gaining a close-up experience of printmaking and deepening their understanding of the innovations and progress made by Suzhou's younger generation of printmakers. Some exhibiting artists also offered hands-on guidance during the activity.
