The Xinyi Solar Zhangjiagang Production Base has recently successfully launched its intelligent microgrid project, marking the largest microgrid in Zhangjiagang and the first large-scale self-balancing microgrid in Suzhou.

Integrating waste heat recovery, solar power generation, energy storage, and industrial production loads, the project enhances energy efficiency, reduces costs, and provides backup power, ensuring power quality and supporting grid stability and green corporate development.
Recognizing the company's needs, the State Grid Zhangjiagang Power Supply Company formed a dedicated service team, conducted on-site research to tailor an intelligent microgrid solution. The system utilizes digital twins, panoramic displays, and 3D visualization technology for unified energy management.
Clean energy accounts for 25 percent of the company's total electricity consumption, generating over 180 million kWh annually, cutting electricity costs by 90 million yuan ($12.39 million), and reducing carbon emissions by approximately 179,000 metric tons per year.
In recent years, State Grid Zhangjiagang Power Supply Company has accelerated the development of model smart microgrid projects and integrated them into a new power load management system for centralized oversight. To date, three fully functional smart microgrid projects have been established citywide.
