Weighing over 2,000 metric tons, the wash tower measures 109 meters in length with a maximum diameter of 10.2 meters, setting a new global record for similar equipment. As a key component of the EO/EG unit, the wash tower plays a crucial role in gas purification, resource recovery, equipment protection, and pollution reduction, ensuring the facility's efficient operation. Its delivery marks a significant milestone in the progress of the SABIC (Saudi Basic Industries Corporation) Fujian Gulei Ethylene Project.

Since securing the project in 2024, Hailu Heavy Industry has leveraged its expertise in operations, management, technology, and production to achieve remarkable milestones. The company completed the manufacturing of the 2,000-ton-plus oversized equipment in a record-breaking eight months while maintaining top-tier quality standards. The weld seams passed 100 percent flaw detection testing, vertical alignment deviation was strictly controlled within 0.03 percent, and the product achieved a 99.97 percent qualification rate, setting a new industry benchmark.

SABIC Fujian Gulei Ethylene Project is a joint venture between Fujian Energy Petrochemical Group Co and SABIC, a global petrochemical giant. Once completed, it is expected to generate an annual output value of approximately 30 billion yuan ($4.14 billion) and drive over 100 billion yuan in upstream and downstream investments.
