In recent years, Zhangjiagang has been actively promoting industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation, aiming to build a modern vocational education system that supports high-quality economic growth.

The school has partnered with multiple local companies to establish enterprise academies and industry-education integration communities. Together, they have developed curriculum standards, training systems, faculty teams, and practical training bases, ensuring that students gain theoretical knowledge and hands-on technical skills that align seamlessly with industry needs.
Shazhou Professional Institute of Technology closely aligns its programs with the city's strategic industries, including intelligent manufacturing, digitalization, and specialty semiconductors. The institute has accordingly adjusted its course offerings and training programs while collaborating with leading enterprises.
In addition to inviting industry experts to teach in classrooms, students are taken directly to company workshops, where hands-on training from experienced technicians accelerates their transition from apprentices to skilled industrial workers.
To match the city's "4+4" modern industrial framework, Zhangjiagang's vocational schools have upgraded traditional programs such as electromechanical technology, mechanical manufacturing and automation, and garment craftsmanship. Meanwhile, 20 new programs have been introduced, including intelligent equipment operation and maintenance, new energy equipment technology, and NEV technology.
Each year, more than 1,000 apprentices are trained, supported by 94 production-oriented internship and training bases and seven master skill studios. Over ten local enterprises have been recognized as provincial-level industry-education integration enterprises.
