Cainiao will leverage the warehousing resources of the Zhangjiagang Bonded Zone to set up a dedicated cross-border base, focusing on supply chain operations for high-demand product categories such as cosmetics and personal care items.
The project will also integrate the 1210 bonded import distribution model and international transit services, aiming to become a benchmark for cross-border e-commerce in the cosmetics sector. Once fully operational, the base is expected to generate an annual cross-border trade volume of 300 to 500 million yuan ($41.46-69.11 million).
Cainiao is a subsidiary of Alibaba and the world's largest cross-border e-commerce logistics company, operating one of the most extensive global logistics networks. It serves over 100,000 merchants and international brands worldwide.
In recent years, Zhangjiagang has been actively promoting the "cross-border e-commerce + industrial clusters" model, attracting a growing number of high-quality platforms and enterprises. Over the past three years, the city's cross-border trade volume has maintained an average annual growth rate of over 120 percent.
