In recent years, Zhangjiagang has integrated urban renewal with the cultural tourism industry, driving the city's high-quality development.
For example, the Shuangshan Lanwan cultural and tourism district started construction in May 2024 with a total investment of 50 million yuan ($6.86 million). The project upgrades and renovates the original structures on both sides of the old street, aiming to provide diverse services such as boutique homestays and digital cultural, sports, and health and wellness industries.

The Zhangjiagang Digital Cultural Park project is another shining example. It transforms old buildings into an industrial park featuring Suzhou-style gardens.
Looking ahead, Zhangjiagang plans to advance the development of cultural industry and urban renewal, fostering a seamless integration of culture and city development.
