In 2024, Zhangjiagang Port reported a cargo throughput of 250 million metric tons, with foreign trade volumes reaching 71.5 million tons, marking a 1.5 percent year-on-year increase. Among the noteworthy achievements, Zhangjiagang Port also facilitated the export of 2,096 TEUs of lithium battery products and 19,028 vehicles, including 1,335 new energy vehicles, throughout the year.

To bolster its operations, the port strengthened its collaboration with Shanghai International Port (Group) Co and feeder shipping companies and ensured the stable operation of alliance routes with Shanghai Port. In 2024, the alliance routes operated 957 voyages, including 512 to Yangshan Port and 445 to Waigaoqiao Port, cumulatively handling 278,300 TEUs.

Moreover, the port successfully facilitated the safe arrival of 267 Capesize bulk carriers. It supported the steady growth of specialized foreign trade goods such as heavy equipment, engineering machinery, and metal ores. Enhancements in port services were also notable, with Yongjia Terminal resuming operations for dangerous goods containers and several other terminals obtaining certifications for handling new energy cargo types.

Looking ahead, Zhangjiagang will focus on port transformation and enhancing the integration of port, industry, and urban development.
