The newly introduced services include an early morning G7080 train to Nanjing South Station, departing Zhangjiagang at 7:11 am and arriving at 8:10 am. This service significantly enhances convenience for commuters during peak hours.
The station also introduced eight more long-distance high-speed rail routes that connect passengers to major cities, including Beijing South, Chengdu East, Kunming South, Yichang East, Shenzhen North, Guangzhou Baiyun, Changsha South, and Ruian. In addition, two more regional services now operate between Zhangjiagang and Nanjing South Station.
Zhangjiagang Station's network expansion now facilitates direct connections to 297 stations across 129 cities in 23 provinces, autonomous regions, and municipalities, making it one of the most extensive rail hubs among county-level stations in China.
The recent opening of the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High-Speed Railway has further bolstered connectivity, enabling direct travel from Zhangjiagang to Suzhou South Station, Huzhou East Station, and Huzhou Nanxun Station.
In freight transport, Zhangjiagang North Station, the city's first dedicated railway freight hub, is set to open after Chinese New Year. This new facility aims to develop the railway freight market while creating a "port-rail linkage" development model, which is projected to significantly improve cargo transportation for local businesses and drive regional economic growth.
