In a significant move to bolster youth development and attract young talent, Zhangjiagang has recently upgraded its talent policies, creating a supportive and inclusive environment for young professionals to thrive.
The city recently introduced a new "1+1+N" talent policy series featuring 20 concrete measures across talent evaluation, talent introduction, key industries, and urban experiences. Among the highlights is a generous package valued at over 30,000 yuan ($4093.55), designed to offer young talents the best possible start in the city.
The city launched a "One-Click Access" talent service platform on the "Zhangjiagang Today" app to streamline access to these benefits. This platform not only facilitates policy consultations and project applications but also includes three life service modules, covering accommodation, transportation, dining, reading, sports, and entertainment, ensuring a seamless experience for young talents from their arrival to their long-term settlement.

In addition, graduates attending recruitment events in Zhangjiagang are eligible for travel subsidies: 500 yuan for those from Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Shanghai, and Anhui; 1,000 yuan for other domestic regions; and 3,000 yuan for overseas candidates.
Zhangjiagang has implemented a housing subsidy system to reduce the cost of living for young professionals. Innovative and entrepreneurial talents can receive up to 2 million yuan in home purchase subsidies and up to 5,000 yuan per month for talent apartment renting. Meanwhile, young talents with bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degrees are eligible for up to 150,000 yuan in home purchase subsidies and up to 1,000 yuan per month for talent apartments renting, significantly enhancing the city's appeal as a place to live and work.

Beyond professional support, Zhangjiagang is also enriching the social lives of its young residents. The city has introduced a variety of engaging activities, including night schools, music festivals, and marathons tailored for young professionals. Last year alone, the night schools offered over 30 diverse courses, such as mobile photography, aerobics, and printmaking, becoming a popular way for young people to spend their evenings.
