On Oct 23, Jiangsu Railteco Equipment Co commenced constructing its intelligent production base for core components in the rail transit sector in Zhangjiagang, a county-level city of Suzhou, Jiangsu province.

The project involves a total investment of 500 million yuan ($69.04 million) and aims to establish 10 intelligent production lines dedicated to manufacturing core components for the rail transit sector. This facility is designed to achieve an annual production capacity of 200,000 units. It is expected to become operational by the first quarter of 2026 and is projected to generate an additional annual sales revenue of approximately 450 million yuan for the company.

The company has provided products and services to over 360 rail transit manufacturers and operators in 75 countries and regions worldwide. In 2023, Railteco's axle products captured more than 25 percent of the market share in Europe.
