On Oct 9, the largest curved roof solar project in Zhangjiagang – the rooftop photovoltaic project of Jiangsu Yonggang Group, successfully commenced operations.

Covering an area of 312,000 square meters, the project is expected to generate 23 million kilowatt-hours of electricity annually, saving around 15.6 million yuan ($2.15 million) in electricity costs per year and reducing carbon dioxide emissions by 15,900 metric tons annually.
As the steel industry is a high-energy-consuming sector, converting solar energy directly into electricity can lower electricity costs while reducing pollution, helping steel enterprises achieve green transformation.
Since the beginning of this year, 232 distributed photovoltaic projects have been connected to the grid in Zhangjiagang, with a total capacity of 197 megawatts, effectively promoting the green transformation of enterprises in the city.
