The five-day competition garnered the participation of over 240 elite individuals from 70 teams representing 25 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions, with 80 individuals recognized as "National Technical Experts in Steel Industry".

Shagang Group received praise for creating an equitable and innovative competition environment. They developed an autonomous electrical training platform utilizing the internet of things technology to encompass the entire scope of electrical operations in steel production. The platform's technical drawings and demonstration programs were publicly accessible to all participants, ensuring fairness and transparency.

The inclusion of new events, such as hazard elimination utilizing Virtual Reality technology and unmanned crane operations, contributed to the technological advancement of the steel industry.

Moreover, this year's competition incorporated exams, interviews, and oral defenses, assessing knowledge from fundamental theories to advanced concepts, with the intention of cultivating leading experts in the field.

With over 500 participants, including contestants, coaches, and team leaders, Shagang assembled a dedicated team of 95 staff members and 198 young volunteers to offer comprehensive services. An LED screen for centralized viewing outside competition venues and a real-time live-streaming platform were also introduced to enhance the experience.

Headquartered in Zhangjiagang, Shagang Group has developed into an international conglomerate with a focus on steel over its 49-year history. The company has consecutively been listed in the Fortune Global 500 for 16 years.
