As part of the 2024 Yangtze River Cultural Festival, a cultural fair was recently held in Zhangjiagang, showcasing the intangible cultural heritages of the Yangtze River basin.
The fair featured a diverse array of cultural heritages and distinctive products from 13 provinces, regions, and cities along the river. In addition, a wide range of arts originating from the Yangtze River basin were performed, including folk songs of the Yi ethnic group, Tibetan dances, and performances of Kunqu Opera.

The focal point of the event was an extensive long-table banquet, during which residents gathered at the 40-meter-long table to partake in the distinctive dishes from the Yangtze River basin. Through the act of sharing food and drinks, the participants immersed themselves in the vibrant culture and charming lifestyles of Jiangnan.
This event allowed ancient festivities like fairs, feasting, and watching performances to blend seamlessly into modern life, bridging the gap between heritage and contemporary culture.
