The Qiyue Art Gallery in Fenghuang town, Zhangjiagang hosted an opening ceremony on Jan 26 to mark its inauguration and unveil the Scroll of Cultural Heritage in Yangtze River Basin by artist Wang Bin.

Wang, the master behind the stunning work, embarked on an extensive three-year journey, from the source of the Yangtze River in Qinghai province to its estuary in Shanghai, to conduct in-depth research and exploration. He selected 330 national-level intangible cultural heritage projects from 11 provinces, municipalities, and autonomous regions along the Yangtze River, depicting them in the 175-meter-long Scroll of Cultural Heritage in Yangtze River Basin.

The scroll garnered significant attention, with coverage by major media outlets such as Xinhua News Agency, achieving an online viewership exceeding 100 million.

The Qiyue Art Gallery, situated amidst fields and transformed from village dwellings, serves as a rural art center. Drawing inspiration from the scroll by Wang, the gallery leverages its architectural features to curate the exhibition, aiming to promote cultural heritage in an artistic manner.

The gallery plans to organize more informative activities and art education courses centered around intangible cultural heritage to contribute to the widespread understanding and appreciation of the rich cultural tapestry of the Yangtze River Basin.
