The opening ceremony of the Zhangjiagang Golden Autumn Economic and Trade Week was held on Oct 20, bringing together over 200 guests from various sectors, including industry and investment, to discuss development visions.
During the event, a total of 62 industrial projects with a combined investment exceeding 22 billion yuan ($3.01 billion) were officially signed, spanning sectors such as new energy, intelligent equipment, and biopharmaceuticals. Throughout the entire economic and trade week, various agreements involving industrial projects, strategic partnerships, and fund collaborations, are expected to surpass 80 billion yuan in value.

This year's event features a series of activities focused on themes like technological innovation, cross-border e-commerce, and the integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism. The event includes 12 sub-forums, including the Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone's semiconductor materials promotion conference and the Zhangjiagang Economic Development Zone's high-quality development forum for the new energy storage industry. These activities are scheduled to run from September through November.
During the opening ceremony, Han Wei, Party secretary of Zhangjiagang, said the city has successfully attracted more than 40 Fortune Global 500 companies, accumulating investments for more than 60 projects. The city has become home to 1,100 foreign-invested enterprises, while nurturing 1,562 industrial enterprises above designated scale and 34 listed companies. Zhangjiagang is steadily evolving into a hub for high-quality projects, he noted.
