The 2023 Yangtze River Culture Festival, which will take place from Oct 20 to November in Zhangjiagang, Suzhou, Jiangsu province, promises to be a grand celebration of the region's rich heritage with an array of cultural experiences and exhibitions.

In honor of the 20th anniversary of the festival, 13 provincial-level regions along the Yangtze River and eight cities along the Jiangsu bank are coming together to organize a total of 22 unique events divided into five categories - cultural relics, intangible cultural heritage, art, travel, and opening-up.

Highlights of the events include the "Yangtze River civilization and the Maritime Silk Road" special exhibition, an immersive experience at the Huangsipu Site, contemporary art exhibitions, and traditional folk performances.

In addition, this year's festival will feature the unveiling of the "Jiangsu Yangtze River Cultural Tourism Routes", the results of the "100 Scenes of the Yangtze River" selection, exquisite calligraphy manuscripts by Sun Xiaoyun, and the "Spring Scenery of the Yangtze River" scroll painting.

In recent years, Jiangsu has dedicated significant efforts to developing the Yangtze River Culture Festival into a platform for preserving and promoting the region's rich heritage and an influential cultural brand in order to boost the innovative development of Yangtze River culture.
