Good news continues to pour in for the alcohol industry in Zhangjiagang, Suzhou, Jiangsu province.

The fig wine made by Zhangjiagang Guobao Agricultural Development Co Ltd recently clinched a gold award at the 2023 World Fig Conference & Expo.

"We first introduced a series of fig wines to the market in June 2021," said Liu Fengying, president of the company. In recent years, the company, through its relentless pursuit of innovation and research, has expanded business across the entire fig industrial chain, from seed selection and cultivation to fresh fruit sales and deep processing.

Located in Lexi village, Leyu town, Guobao currently is home to nearly 67 hectares of fig orchards.

The Shazhou Youhuang yellow rice wine from Jiangsu Zhangjiagang Brewery Co Ltd was recently also selected for the list of outstanding rural specialties in Jiangsu province. Leveraging the unique intangible cultural heritage of the Houcheng yellow wine brewing technique, combined with modern quality management systems, the company crafts high-quality products by selecting premium water sources and rice.
