An investment promotion delegation from Zhangjiagang, Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province recently visited Australia to foster collaboration and explore development opportunities.

During the visit, the delegation met with executives of Albemarle, a specialty chemicals corporation established in 1887 and a market leader in energy storage and catalysts. The company is also the world's largest lithium producer.

Han Wei, Party secretary of Zhangjiagang, said that in recent years, the city has been prioritizing the new energy industry and its various segments like new energy vehicles, hydrogen energy, photovoltaics, and lithium-ion batteries. The future, he noted, holds substantial collaborative potential between Zhangjiagang and Albemarle. He invited the company to visit Zhangjiagang and seek potential cooperation opportunities.

The delegation also visited Tianqi Lithium Energy Australia Pty Ltd (TLEA), a subsidiary of Tianqi Lithium Corporation. As a leading global new energy company, Tianqi Lithium has strategically established lithium businesses in China, Australia, and Chile since 2012.

Han said that in February of this year, Tianqi Lithium's hydroxide production base project was launched in Zhangjiagang and is set to bolster the overall strength of the city's new energy industry. He expressed hope for enhanced cooperation between the two parties.
