The 2023 CCID China's top 100 counties list was released at the County Economic Innovation and Development Forum held on July 25 in Beijing, with Zhangjiagang in Suzhou, Jiangsu province securing an impressive third place.
Conducted by CCID Consulting, China's first listed consulting firm affiliated with the China Center for Information Industry Development of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the evaluation for high-quality county development is based on four indicators: economic strength, growth potential, affluence, and green development.
Zhangjiagang is committed to nurturing innovation and fostering a thriving business ecosystem. In 2022, Zhangjiagang attracted over 1,200 technology-related projects and built over 2 million square meters of innovation incubators.

It plans to implement 222 major projects with a total investment of 236.1 billion yuan ($32.93 billion) in 2023, and the investment completion rate for the first half of the year is already at 54.4 percent.
The county's ambitious vision extends to 2025. It aims to achieve a total revenue of 700 billion yuan from four industrial clusters focusing on new energy, intelligent high-end equipment, semiconductors, and advanced materials.
Zhangjiagang has also made strides in promoting rural revitalization, taking extensive measures to improve the ecological environment.
