According to data released by the Zhangjiagang maritime safety administration, Zhangjiagang Port witnessed a surge in international traffic in the first half of this year.
The number of international vessels entering and leaving the port reached 3,078, a substantial 14.4-percent year-on-year increase. Additionally, the cargo volume handled by these vessels reached 30.76 million metric tons, representing a growth of 3.8 percent compared to the previous year.
This upswing is a clear indication of the recent boost in the city's foreign trade. In the first half of this year, Zhangjiagang Port achieved a cargo throughput of 121 million tons and handled 452,000 standard containers.
The Zhangjiagang maritime safety administration is actively and continuously working to enhance the efficiency of cross-border trade and foster a first-rate port environment. These efforts are aimed at providing sustained support for the high-quality development of the port.
