Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, has renovated 26 farmers' markets and built two new markets since 2020.

Meilin Farmers' Market, which started operating this year, offers a variety of products including vegetables, meat, and seafood. The market is conveniently located near other types of amenities, including clinics, restaurants, and amusement parks.

Peng Jun, the manager of the Meilin market, said stalls that provide services such as mending clothes and shining shoes will be set up in the near future.

In October, Zhangjiagang issued an action plan to upgrade 15 famers' markets in the coming three years.
