US multinational chemical company Dow held a ceremony on Nov 11 to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of its production base in Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province.
According to Han Wei, Party secretary of the city, Dow has invested over $2.8 billion in its Zhangjiagang base over the past two decades. The base is now the company's largest in the Asia Pacific.
Zhong Ruilin, general manager of the Zhangjiagang production base, said in his speech that the company has been commencing a new project every 18 months over the past 20 years. Dow will list Zhangjiagang as its principal investment destination in Asia and continue its involvement in the Chinese market, he added.
