Shenyuan Grape Technology Co Ltd in Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, has made the first group of Jiangsu provincial modern agricultural bases for the standardized industrial chain, local media reported.
The company, established in 1981, is a provincial-level private technology enterprise. Xu Weidong, president of the enterprise, has more than 20 years of experience cultivating varieties of grapes.
Shenyuan has so far established over 1,200 mu (80 hectares) of grape plantations, including 500,000-square-meters of steel-framed greenhouses.
In addition, Shenyuan has built standardized demonstration bases for grape planting in Jiangsu province, Yunnan province and Xichang city in Sichuan province, covering an area of 1,200 mu.
The company has also teamed up with farmers to establish 100,000-mu of bases for planting high-quality fruits. The bases can produce over 2,000 metric tons of grapes every year, benefiting more than 300,000 farmers in China.
Today, Shenyuan is the chairman company of the Jiangsu Provincial Association of Grapes.
