Two farmlands in Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, made the list of the 2022 Suzhou provincial high-standard farmland demonstration zones, local media reported recently.
One farmland is located in Changshayin while the other is situated in Leyu town.
The Changshayin farmland has been lauded for its use of advanced technology to improve efficiency levels.
Located in the Changyinsha modern agriculture demonstration zone, this farmland was established in 2014 with a total investment of 7.15 million yuan ($983,496). Spanning 5,000 mu (333.33 hectares), the farmland can produce about 4.86 million kilograms of high-quality grain every year.
The farmland project in Leyu town occupies 3,100 mu and is focused on applying water-saving technology to farming practices. By leveraging the internet of things and wireless networks, this farmland has a fully automated irrigation process that reduces water usage.
