The first phase of an intelligent industrial park in Leyu town, Zhangjiagang is expected to be completed by the end of this year before starting operations in the first quarter of 2023.
Construction of the first phase of the industrial park, which consists of two data center buildings, started in November 2021, said ZuoXiong, the project manager.
With about 9 billion yuan ($1.26 billion) in investment, the intelligent industrial park will have 11 data centers, an electrical substation, as well as an operations and maintenance center, said Zuo. The park will be equipped with server racks with capacities ranging from 4 kilowatts to 20 kilowatts to meet needs of different customers.
The park will feature the use of green technologies and renewable resources to reduce carbon emissions. The annual average power usage effectiveness (PUE) of the park is less than 1.25.
The park has already signed cooperation agreements with China Mobile, China Unicom, and China Telecom, and is currently having business negotiations with many internet companies, according to Zuo.
Upon its completion in 2025, the park will be the largest data center in the Yangtze River Delta region and will aid the digital transformation of other industries in the region.
