New facilities and equipment have been featured at these new schools to improve the quality of compulsory education in Zhangjiagang. For example, the Chengzhong campus of Jiyang Experimental Primary School has 19 special classrooms for different activities, including housekeeping, pottery, and seal carving, said Tao Wenjuan, the principal of the school.
The north campus of Shazhou Middle School has installed adjustable desks and chairs, eye protection lamps, as well as smart systems in classrooms to assist teachers and students, said Zeng Yanhui, a director from the school.
During the 14th Five-Year Plan period (2021-25), Zhangjiagang aims to build and renovate 31 schools to increase its admission quota by 33,830.
