The 2022 Yangtze River Culture Festival will be held from Aug 27 to the end of October in Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, officials announced at a news conference on Monday.
Themed "Integrate, Promote, Share", this year's festival will comprise six sections and 10 activities related to relics preservation, intangible cultural heritage, traditional Chinese folk vocal art, and integration of culture and tourism, said Guan Tiantao, an official at the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism.
Guan added that 13 provinces in the Yangtze River basin will participate in the event.
The agenda for the festival states that the Zhangjiagang Museum will hold two exhibitions on Yangtze River civilization and traditional Chinese metalwork starting on Aug 28. In addition, a forum centered on the origin of Yangtze River civilization will be held at the end of October.
The Yangtze River Culture Festival has been held for 18 consecutive years since 2004 and has pushed ahead with the integration of culture and tourism sectors in the Yangtze River basin.
