Twenty-eight students from 11 universities, including Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, and Nanjing University, recently arrived at Shangang village in Zhangjiagang, Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province to explore ways of rural vitalization.
During the trip, the students will work on several subjects, such as grassroots governance, rural tourism, and elderly-friendly renovation of residential buildings through field studies and statistical analysis.
They will also undergo a five-day summer camp featuring scientific and traditional Chinese cultural activities for teenagers, as well as conduct dance lessons and lectures on chronic diseases prevention and control for the elderly.
In recent years, Shangang village has cooperated with groups of university students to carry out research projects and cultural activities.
