The 7th China Innovation Challenge, a national-level event promoted by the Torch High Technology Industry Development Center of the Ministry of Science and Technology, began on July 14 in Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province.
The event is aimed at seeking solutions to technological problems faced by companies. Zhangjiagang will this year survey more than 300 companies involved in strategic emerging industries such as new materials to learn about their needs and help them transform and upgrade.
The city held the competition in 2021 for the first time. During the last edition, it visited 308 companies and gathered 124 technical issues that spawned 88 solutions by 40 universities and research institutes.
