A master plan for the Jiangsu Yangtze River International Chemical Industrial Park, which is located in the Zhangjiagang Bonded Zone, Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, was recently released.

The plan has been examined and approved by experts from several institutions, including the Nanjing Institute of Geography and Limnology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Nanjing Academy of Urban Planning and Design.

According to the plan, the park will focus on three industries – new functional materials, medicine and healthcare, as well as hydrogen energy – and promote services sectors such as logistics, warehousing, energy saving and environmental protection.

To boost innovation, the park aims to add more than 10 national-level high-tech companies and 10 corporate technology centers, increase the ratio of research and development expenses to sales revenue to over 3 percent in companies above designated scale, and raise the number of scientists and engineers per 10,000 employees to 500 by the end of 2025.

The operating revenue of the park is expected to reach 100 billion yuan ($14.93 billion) by 2025 and 200 billion yuan by 2035, according to the plan.
