Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, launched the 2022 summer travel festival on June 18.
About 20 activities, including artistic performances, basketball games, night outings, flower viewings, and food festivals, will be held during the festival.
Two travel routes – one in the island for tourists to escape the summer heat and the other for students to study during the summer vacation – have been created, while more than 50 promotions will be rolled out to boost consumption.
An online competition that encourages influencers on Douyin, a short video platform, to create content about Zhangjiagang's culture and tourism resources will also take place.
During the launch ceremony, Zhangjiagang formed an alliance with Kunshan, Changshu, and Taicang, three county-level cities administered by Suzhou, to strengthen their cooperation in exploring resources, building markets, and attracting tourists to promote the high-quality development of the area's culture and tourism industry.
