Jiangsu Vocational Institute of Architectural Technology located in Xuzhou, East China's Jiangsu province signed an agreement with the government of Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, Jiangsu, on June 18 to set up a new school named after the city.
The new school, which will groom technical talents for Zhangjiagang-based companies and promote the city's industrial transformation and upgrading, will provide students from the Jiangsu Vocational Institute of Architectural Technology with opportunities to receive scholarships and career guidance, as well as do internships at companies in Zhangjiagang.
Twelve companies from sectors, including metallurgy, machinery, architecture and high-end equipment, have taken part in the building of the new school. These companies also held talks with nine other schools during the signing ceremony and the two sides have reached preliminary cooperation agreements on talent introduction and other matters.
Spotlight Automotive Co in Zhangjiagang donated cars that can be used for experiments to the school.
