Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, launched eight creative products on April 28 to foster a love of reading among its residents.
The products include a promotional video, audio recordings of book recommendations, and a reading mini-program on WeChat.
The mini-program allows users access to electronic books, book recommendation audios, and various reading activities. People can also trade their used books with others on the platform.
The launch event was organized by government departments including the publicity department under the CPC Zhangjiagang municipal committee, the city's bureau of press and publication, as well as the bureau of culture, sport, radio, television and tourism. More than 54,000 people watched the event online.
