Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province has seen its industrial sectors achieve high-quality development due to favorable policies and strong financial subsidies.
Local enterprises have been undergoing a digital and intelligent transition. For example, the Zhangjiagang production base of US multinational chemical corporation Dow is using robots to measure the thickness of container walls. This has significantly improved work efficiency and data accuracy.
A number of industrial parks have also provided a new impetus to the city's economic growth. For example, the Zhangjiagang Medical Equipment High-tech Industrial Park has attracted many businesses related to incubation, registration, production, testing, as well as research and development.
The Intelligent Equipment Industrial Park in the city's high-tech industrial development zone focuses on sectors such as industrial robots and 3D printing.
In addition, the Zhangjiagang Economic and Technological Development Zone has two provincial-level high-tech company accelerators - the Nanotechnology Industrial Park and the Huaxia Science and Technology Park. The two parks are now home to more than 10 municipal-level major projects that are involved in emerging industries like semiconductor and hydrogen energy.
