A number of art troupes and public cultural sites in Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province were recognized by the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism on Feb 28 for their contributions to Jiangsu's cultural development.
Among them is a drama club named after Tian Han (1898-1968), who is one of the three founders of Chinese spoken drama and the lyricist of China's national anthem March of the Volunteers. Established in 2016, the club has been holding more than 200 performances every year.

Another art troupe that won the provincial recognition is the Zhangjiagang Philharmonic Chorus. Established in 2017, the troupe has educated many professional singers and is a silver medal winner at the 15th China International Chorus Festival in 2015.
An innovation and entrepreneurship center at Xiaojiaxiang village, a fairy tale book house located in a public park, as well as a cultural and tourism parlor at Yonglian village in Zhangjiagang were given the "Jiangsu's most beautiful public cultural sites" honor.
The book house provides a variety of children's books and stages pantomimes. The cultural and tourism parlor, which includes exhibition areas, libraries, and playrooms, is a space for local residents and visitors to read and relax.
