The job market in Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, performed well following the Spring Festival holiday that ended on Feb 6.
Eight companies including Beam Automotive Co and Great Wall Motors are holding a job fair in the city from Feb 7 to 13, offering 2,755 positions. More than 1,000 job seekers have attended the fair to date, and 283 have been employed.
The Zhangjiagang bureau of human resources and social security organized for 25 local companies including Zhangjiagang CIMC Sanctum Cryogenic Equipment Co offering over 2,500 jobs to hold a job fair on Feb 6 in Yanhe county, Southwest China's Guizhou province. To date, 261 applicants have achieved tentative employment deals with companies.
Zhangjiagang plans to hold more than 40 job fairs in February, said Xu Hao, an official at the city's bureau of human resources and social security. Online job fairs will also be organized to help companies recruit talent and help job seekers find employment.
