Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Suzhou, East China's Jiangsu province, has seen strong performance in its culture and tourism sectors during the 2022 New Year holiday from Jan 1 to 3.
Over the three-day holiday, scenic areas in Zhangjiagang received 52,700 tourists and generated 340,400 yuan ($53,414) in ticket sales, up 22.76 percent year-on-year. Short trips and guest houses in the Changyinsha Eco-agriculture Resort were popular.
A number of public cultural venues, including the city's library and art museum, held 21 online and offline activities that attracted 46,000 visitors over the holiday.
The Zhangjiagang Museum held an activity themed around the Huangsipu Ruins which could date back to the Tang and Song dynasties (618-1279). The activity gives visitors the chance to learn about many cultural relics and ancient Chinese history.
