The value of business to customer (B2C) exports of Zhangjiagang, a county-level city in Jiangsu province, hit a record high to exceed $10 million in 2018, a year-on-year increase of 58 percent, the city’s commerce bureau unveiled recently.
Meanwhile, the number of Zhangjiagang-based companies that opened stores on the Amazon platform in 2018 rose 55 percent to over 200.
With the development of e-commerce, cross-border e-commerce has become one of the main models for the transformation of traditional foreign trade.
The small and medium-sized enterprises in Zhangjiagang have striven to develop the B2C exports by opening stores on the Amazon platform.
The exported products focus on clothes, home textiles and hardware. These companies aim to improve the supply chain, product quality and user experience to expose their brands to the world.
According to the commerce authority, the government will further optimize the supporting policies for B2C export businesses, help e-commerce companies to build brands and push forward the transformation of traditional enterprises.
