Taicang is a county-level city under the jurisdiction of Suzhou. It has a total area of 810 square kilometers and a total population of 1.03 million. It is located east of the Yangtze River and south of Shanghai in the middle of China’s coastal economic belt and the Yangtze River Delta (YRD) region.

More express lines were available along the Shanghai-Taicang Expressway. Direct intercity bus from Liuhe to Luodian Meilanhu Station of No. 7 Line of Shanghai LRT was put into operation in the year.

History

Taicang was just a small village near the sea in the ancient time. During the Spring and Autumn Period (770 BC-476 BC), it was under the jurisdiction of the Wu Kingdom.

Loudong Sub-district

Loudong sub-district is located in the eastern part of Taicang, 8 kilometers away from the urban area, with the Shanghai-Taicang Expressway Chaoyang Road exit and the extension of the Shanghai-Jiading Expressway crossing the district.

Shuangfeng Town

Known as the "Home of China's Folk Arts (Dragon and Lion Dance)" honored by the Ministry of Culture and located in western Taicang, Shuangfeng town, covering an area of 62.6 square kilometers.

Located at northeast Taicang, Huangjing town is located in the planned area of Taicang Port. The town enjoys a coastline of 11.8 km along the Yangtze River.
