Taicang firms get R&D funding
The Jiangsu provincial government approved 3.6 million yuan ($579,740) worth of grants to be distributed to Taicang companies with technological research programs.
The total amount of grants distributed to companies in Taicang ranked second among county-level cities in Jiangsu.
Suzhou Bacme Biotech Co will receive a 1 million yuan grant to aid its development of nuclei tests with high sensitivity for HBV, HCV, HIV (1+2).
A total of 1.6 million yuan will go to Taicang Anyou Biotech Co and Jiangsu Baoze Macromolecule Materials Co for their efforts on solid waste reprocessing. Their research will help livestock breeding and crop farming become greener businesses.
Gproan Protein Engineering Co (Suzhou) will be gifted with 1 million yuan for their mutant proteinase K research. The enzyme has a high activity level and can be produced on an industrial-scale at a low cost.
