Two sessions of Binhu look back and forward

Binhu district in Wuxi held its biggest annual political events, the fourth session of the 4th Binhu District Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) and the fourth session of the 4th Binhu District People's Congress.

During the two sessions from May 25 to 28, more than 200 CPPCC members and over 200 deputies to the Binhu People's Congress reviewed the progress Binhu made in 2019 and looked ahead to 2020.

According to the government work report by Chen Xilun, governor of the district, in 2019, Binhu's GDP was 81.61 billion yuan ($11.40 billion), a year-on-year increase of 7.2 percent, its e-commerce exports were $120 million, and 70 new high-tech enterprises were set up in the district.

This year, the district will implement 30 new measures to spur innovation, continue to optimize its business environment by improving policy and government services, and spare no effort to promote the development of key industries including healthcare, IC design, internet of vehicles, information technology, TV and film, financial investment, advanced manufacturing, and modern services.
